Closing night of The Woman in Black. Huge success in attendance and in critical acclaim. My best directorial work. One that I will miss dearly. Great thanks to The Gorilla Theatre for the opportunity.
Also at Gorilla id the Teen Actors' Gang trucking along. We have started to play with on-camera work and I am really liking what it has pulled out of everyone. Perhaps we will have a mini movie in the works this session. We are still taking enrollment if you know od a young adult, age 13-18 who is interested.
Speaking of mini movies, I just finished the 2nd promo clip for Addiction: The Moment of Clarity. I have been having a great deal of fun putting this project together with Shana and the rest of the All Out Rep company members. I hope that you are available to come see the premiere performance this FRIDAY, THE 13TH. It is a one-night-only gig and part of the development process. those of you who came to see The Agreeable Husband were a tremendous help in deciding the next developments of that project and proof that the attendees of this premiere performance are without a doubt a significant part of what we are about.
You can find more about Addiction at All Out Rep's site or purchase tickets below. If you are unable to attend and would like to donate a ticket, just purchase the ticket and write "donate my ticket" in the comments section.
Peace and I hope this blog entry finds you taking baby steps towards your goals.
Ami

Just opened The Woman in Black for The Gorilla Theatre last weekend. To huge critical acclaim and fantastic attendance records and audience response, I might add.. It is certain to scare those weak at heart. Read the reviews here, here and here.
I am turning my focus to Addiction: The Moment of Clarity, which plays for one night only on November 13th. Go here to buy tickets and for more information. It is the next Tampa-Grown collaboration from All Out Rep and only one component of the Addiction Series, read all about it at alloutrep.org.
My Teen Actors' Gang at The Gorilla is off to a good start. So many ideas brewing on Sunday mornings with that one. If you know of anyone who would like to join, send them here.
I have also been conducting some private lessons at Patel and teaching an outreach at Metropolitan Ministries for 2nd and 3rd graders, as well as heading up the team of Community Ambassadors at Patel.
But mostly, I have been looking forward to the air clearing and a chance to regroup and spend time on the infrastructural future of All Out Rep. Oh, and sleeping, I have enjoyed catching up on the sleeping as well.
I've also updated my gallery and resume page with pic and songs from past production. Enjoy.
Till next time.
Peace

How I spent my Summer, By Ami Sallee Corley.
Patel Conservatory Summer Camp was a success. I really enjoyed working with the Musical Theater, grades 6-12. There were some very creative young minds this year. Now I am finishing out the summer as Camp Director.
Short Comings was a decent success at the box office and a total success for so many of the artists involved. For me personally, it was awesome to have Candice Benge, playwright for ...Making the Bed, come to town to see the performance and to forge a new artistic friendship between she, and All Out Rep. Hopefully she will be penning our first original "play" for fall of 2010-ish. Watch her site and ours for updates.
Pericles - My pride and joy of what I did this summer - is finally up and rockin' the face off of Tampa's music and theater scene. Had some great press so far. We play until August 23rd. If you are in the Bay area, I'd really love to see you out there in the audience.
Gorilla Theatre has been very kind to me again, and asked me to direct the season opener, The Woman in Black (a chilling ghost story) will mark the 4th season opener I have
directed for the company. My humblest thanks.
__
Year two of the Teen Actors' Gang at The Gorilla starts up in September. Registration is well under way and I am so looking forward to working with these fresh talents.
__
The Artists and Writers Group has invited me to their planning meetings again this year. Look for more info about Deep Carnivale festival September 11-13.
__
That's it for now (as that isn't enough). Huge thanks to everyone for making room in your artistic home for me this summer. Looking forward to more in the near future.

Starting the first day of Arts Camp at The Patel today. (P.S. it is not too late to sign up). Just hope the afternoon showers are kind enough to let up at 4 p.m. every day :)
Heading to a rehearsal for The Agreeable Husband after camp.
If you are planning to attend, get your tickets ahead of time. If you are not able to attend and would like to support us in some way, we ask you to consider purchasing a ticket for someone who is unable to afford one. Simply purchase the ticket and under the comments at the point of purchase, let us know you would like to donate it to a deserving recipient. This is win-win for us as it counts as a donation towards the fundraiser and allows us to expand our audience.
After rehearsal I am heading to a public reading for Pericles, Jobsite's New Rock Musical, which opens August 6th. Based on the Shakespeare play of the same name, book by Shawn Paonessa and Neil Gobioff and Music and Lyrics by Joe Popp. The read through is the first public taste of this world premiere. Tickets are $5 at the door, free to Jobsite season subscribers.
Tomorrow we go into tech rehearsals for Short Comings 2009. We open and close this weekend. Tickets are $5 and you can reserve by e-mailing tickets@jobsitetheater.org. We are excited to announce a talk back with the cast, directors and 3 playwrights who have written original pieces after the Sunday, June 14th performance.
Hopefully I'll see at one of these fantastic arts experiences this week.
Peace
Ami

Wow. What a week. The Young Dramatist Project is up and running and everything else is in deep rehearsals. I decided to buy coffee for the house this week. I normally don't need it before I leave the house but this week it sure helps.
Mustardseed & Waiting for Godot
I am so proud of the Teen Actors' Gang (TAG) at the Gorilla. We are performing two large excerpts from Mustardseed by Doug Cooney, author of The Beloved Dearly and Nobody's Perfect (with Marlee Matlin) and Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett. We perform Saturday, June 6th at 2pm and 5pm. Free and open to the public. Click here for directions.
Short Comings 2009, the next Job-side Production, is well under way. 6 directors, myself included, bring 6 short plays dealing with life when reason and logic have "left the building". I am personally stoked because the playwright of my piece, Candace Benge, will be in town to see the world premiere of her play, The Numerous Possibile Consequences of Making the Bed. Candace has a unique writing style. Litterally. Her scripts look like scores of music and we talke in terms of measures and harmonics and rhythm. Here's a little taste. Candace will be in attendance at the Sunday evening performance at 7pm. I am trying to put together a talkback with her and the other two playwrights whose plays are also making their premiere, Lori Shannon and Christen Petitt.
The Agreeable Husband Fundraiser
And, finally, I strongly encourage everyone who is in town and available on June 11th to attend the fundraiser for The Agreeable Husband at The Ritz Ybor. Doors open and entertainment begins at 7pm. The show has evolved from its premiere at The Ybor Festival of the Moving Image and this time we ask you to bring your dancing shoes. Celebrated Jazz Pianist James Crumbly joins Tom Zeiglehoffer on the trumpet and TJ Glowacki on the upright bass and the gorgeous vocal talents of Emilia Sargent for a pre-show and interlude of musical entertainment that will inspire you to take the floor.
There is a discount if you purchase your tickets in advance. Purchase tickets here
If you are not able to attend but know of someone who would enjoy this evening, please pass along our website information www.alloutrep.org to them and encourage them to purchase tickets ahead of time.
And check out my resume page, there are new sound files there :)
Cheers to a successful June!
Ami

And on June 11, we will host our fundraiser performance of The Agreeable Husband at The Ritz in Ybor. Doors open and entertainment starts at 7pm, we perform at 8pm. Purchase tickets here.
Then June 13-15, I am producing the Jobside production of Short Comings 2009. A night of shorts featuring fresh face of Tampa's Directors.
